Kelsi conquers at Buffalo River

Kelsi Pederson scored her first career win at Buffalo River Race Park and second overall in the NLSA lightning sprint feature after a close call at the halfway point. Last week’s winner, Brendan Mullen, had his hands full trying to fend off Pederson when a mechanical issue significantly slowed his No. 11M machine. Pederson could not avoid Mullen and made contact with his rear bumper, causing the two to get hooked together. Pederson was able to rejoin the field in the lead as the caution was charged to Mullen. A pair of restarts followed, which allowed Presley Truedson to earn second. Pederson ran the rest of the race unchallenged as she took the win being the first of two Minnesota women on the podium. All in HENCHCRAFTS.

The MMSA headed into Bloomington Speedway Saturday for another USAC sanctioned Lightning Sprint event. Rod Henning proved victorious in his Dorsett Racing HENCHCRAFT. Rod’s efforts propel him up in USAC National points and will make him one of many to beat at years end.

Saturday night at Greenbush Race Park was another successful night for Truscinski Racing. Brandon Johnson brought home the checkered flag for the fourth time this season with the #22. One of three HENCHCRAFTS within the pit, Brandon is last year’s USAC Lightning Sprint National Open winner and has continued to carry that momentum into this year as well.
