Nationally Known

Rico Abreu is the 196th different winner at the Knoxville Raceway. It came during the Friday night Hard Knox feature during the Nationals. Rico parked the Abreu Vineyards No. 24 in Victory Lane for the first time at the famed half-mile to earn the 17th starting spot in Saturday’s 56th annual Knoxville Nationals. “We just parked it for B.C.!” screamed Rico across the Public Address System to the thunderous approval of a nearly packed front stretch grandstand. “I was trying to pick and choose,” commented Rico when asked about having to work slower traffic. “Paul Silva builds a great car along with EMI and Speedway Engines.”

Another accolade earned during the Knoxville Nationals was the Hard Charger Award granted to Kyle Larson. Kyle surged forward starting the evening from the B-Main and winning it in commanding fashion. He then gridded 21st in the A-Main and drove up to a 5th place finish and earning the most corrected positions of any car of the evening. Similar to Rico, the pair shared the same crew chief.

Austin Pierce captured the NOSA Sprint Car win and made it two in a row with his SCHNEE at River Cities Speedway. Pierce capitalized on a late-race restart with two laps to go. “I always hope to get at least one win here,” said Austin in Victory Lane.

Cleaning up in the second open wheel class at River Cities Speedway was Presley Truedson. This young prodigy earned a clean sweep of the nights NLSA Lightning Sprint event driving her HENCHCRAFT.

Alex Therrien started on the pole of the 25-lap Lightning Sprint main event at Cornwall Motor Speedway during their second visit. Alex lead fellow HENCHCRAFT driver, Guillaume Nedeirer, to the stripe for a HENCHRCAFT 1-2.

Andrew Scheid on the list yet again. This young man might own Merritt Speedway by seasons end as he continues to dominate with his HENCHCRAFT. Other multi-time winners include Jason Billups at Valley Speedway and Brock Lemley at Deming Speedway.

First timer, Alex Truscinski, finally closed the deal at Greenbush Raceway Park. After qualifying with a lap of 13.312, Alex set a new track record. Both Alex, and father Alan, won their heats only to dominate the feature. Alex would run the last half of the race unchallenged to pick up his first ever feature win. Dad Alan would finish second, both with HENCHCRAFTs.

A driver we couldn’t be more proud of is Jayce Jenkins. Jayce and his family owned STALLARD SST won again at Stuart Speedway. Jayce has utilized the resources available at EMI to refine his race program and become a dominate force wherever his team now competes.

Another STALLARD winner was Carter Hodges at Jackson Speedway in the micro restricted class. Great job by all!
