Old School Racing’s Tankersley Returning Saturday at Golden Triangle

Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (July 16, 2019) – Channin Tankersley will return to the Old School Racing sprint car this Saturday for the first time in more than a month.

Tankersley was sidelined following a vicious crash in the middle of June. It forced him to miss an ASCS Gulf South Region race, which dropped him to second in the championship standings – only nine points out of the lead.

“You just have to let yourself get back to a normal playing field,” he said. “The biggest thing that hurt me was the dizziness and center of balance. It took about two and a half weeks to get over that. All the headaches subsided and here I am good to go.”

Next up for Tankersley is an ASCS Gulf South Region event at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, this Saturday.

“It’s probably one of my favorite tracks that I’ve ever ran,” he said. “It races really good. It’s like the perfect sized small track. You can still race, but its’ small enough to keep everyone on a level playing field.”

Tankersley placed second at the track earlier this season, giving him a podium finish during his last seven races there dating back to 2016. He’s won five of those races during that span.
