URC 360 Sprint Cars, Sunoco Modifieds Headline Georgetown ‘September Showdown Friday, September 21
GEORGETOWN, DE – On Friday, September 21, the United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars make their only appearance of the season at Georgetown Speedway in a double-headline show with the Sunoco big-block/small-block Modifieds.
The annual ‘September Showdown brings the touring URC Sprint Cars to Georgetown for a 25-lap feature. The previously utilized July URC date was moved to September to ease the tow for Pennsylvania and New Jersey 360 Sprint Car teams battling beach traffic.
Sunoco Modifieds will hit the half-mile for a 30-lap, $3,000-to-win event on the heels of a memorable ‘Blast at the Beach finish in the most recent event at the track on August 28.
The Sunoco Modified division has produced a number of different victors this season. Craig Von Dohren remains the only two-time winner (March 16 & June 1). Others finding Georgetown Victory Lane include Ryan Watt (March 17), Stewart Friesen (April 19), Ryan Godown (May 4), Duane Howard (July 21) and Anthony Perrego (August 28).
Fans will be treated to a program with two headline classes as the URC Sprint Cars hit the track for the first time since the additional banking was added prior to the start of the 18 season.
Also on the program: L&J Sheet Metal Crate 602 Sportsman (20 laps, $1,000 to win), plus 12-lap features for Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Little Lincolns.
