"Countdown To Georgetown" Underway For Short Track Super Series Invasion On Tuesday, August 30; Prizes & Bonuses Adding Up For 'Blast at the Beach'
The countdown to Georgetown is underway.
On Tuesday, August 30, Georgetown Speedway comes back to life with the third annual Blast at the Beach event which serves as the final round of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP Velocita South Region.
Big-Block/Small-Block Modifieds race 35 laps on the half-mile for a purse structure of more than $25,000: $5,000 to the winner, $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green. Hurlock Auto & Speed and L&J Sheet Metal are event sponsors.
Lap money is coming in at $20 per lap which will go to the top-seven drivers during the main.
Dannys Pizza Pizzazz has posted a $200 Halfway Leader Bonus.
Start 2 Finish Collision/DTM Motorsports/Lou Johnson Racing have combined to post a $500 Hard Charger Award.
Touch of Green Landscaping is on for a Last Chance Qualifier that will add another fully paid position to the main.
A number of other STSS contingency/product awards will be handed out.
Fans will not be forgotten with a pair of corn-hole game setups as a second 50/50 prize, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series ticket giveaways for Dover, kids bike giveaways and more. RC2U will be on hand with R/C racing in the grandstand area.
Crate 602 Sportsman serve as the second open-wheel division with $1,000 to win and $100 to take the green. Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks each race for $200 to win.
A rain date of August 31 is set.
