Chad Homan's Fuel Sample In Compliance With RUSH Late Model Rules
On August 19, 2017 at Fulton Speedway, RUSH Officials took fuel samples from three racers including Chad Homan. Samples were taken from each competitor's car directly into sterile glass bottles which were then sealed in "evidence" bags with proper chain of custody forms completed to safeguard the integrity of the samples. Samples were hand delivered to a Sunoco representative on August 21, 2017.
The sample sent by RUSH from Chad Homan was found to be out of compliance with the specifications, which remain proprietary to Sunoco.
At that time, Chad Homan was notified of the findings, and per RUSH rules, instructed that he could appeal the finding; at which time he immediately did appeal.
RUSH provides its racers with their own sample that has been taken and sealed in the same manner. Upon his appeal, Chad was instructed to immediately submit his sealed sample to Sunoco's lab; that sample was found to be in compliance.
Sunoco Race Fuels and RUSH will continue to work diligently to ensure its rules are enforced fairly for all concerned. As with any system, errors can be made, which is why RUSH has always given their racers their own sealed sample so that the result of the original test can be reexamined on behalf of all concerned parties.
