A-VERDI STORAGE CONTAINERS PRESENTS THE PATRIOT SPRINT TOUR PLUS ALL REGULAR DIVISIONS AT FONDA THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 25

Fonda, NY – The “Track of Champions� Fonda Speedway will be back in action this Saturday, June 25 for the final racing program in the month of June with all regular divisions along with the Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) 360-Sprint cars. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m. with hot laps at 6:00 p.m. and racing at 7:00.
Regular divisions in action on A-Verdi Storage Containers Night will include the Sunoco Modifieds, the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman, the Algonkin Motel Pro Stocks, the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman, and the Fonda Fair Four Cylinders.
The Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) made their first appearance at the “Track of Champions� back on 5/28/2016 with Stewart Friesen winning that event. Since then, the PST has made five more appearances with no driver winning more than one feature event. The winners of those five events were Davie Franek, Jared Zimbardi, Jordan Poirier, Josh Pieniazek, and Paulie Colagiovanni who won in the PST’s last appearance at Fonda back on 6/26/2021.
So far in 2022, the PST has run a total of three events with Davie Franek (Outlaw Speedway), Jason Schultz (Selinsgrove Speedway), and Danny Varin (Utica Rome Speedway) winning those events. Varin will be doing double duty on Saturday at Fonda in both his self-owned #01 Sprint Car along with the Ed Monger owned, Magsarus #93 Modified. Currently Franek is the point leader on the Patriot Sprint Tour (PST) coming into Fonda this Saturday.
Last Saturday, June 18 was a special night for three drivers at the Fonda Speedway, Dave Constantino, Chad Edwards, and Luke Horning.
Constantino was the winner of the Sunoco Modified feature for his first win of the 2022 season and the second of his career in the division at Fonda with the first win coming back on 5/4/2019. Constantino also has one career Open Sportsman feature win at Fonda back on 6/23/2007 to go along with 17 career Crate 602 Sportsman wins, the first one coming back on 7/23/2011 and his final win in the division on 6/17/2017 before moving up to the Modified division. His 17 career Crate 602 Sportsman wins ties him for second on the all-time win list in the division and he also has one Crate 602 Sportsman Track Championship back in 2013.
Chad Edwards scored his fourth win of the 2022 season last Saturday at Fonda in the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman division, placing him in a tie for second on the all-time win list in the division with 17, the first win coming back on 5/23/2015 to go along with three Crate 602 Sportsman Track Championships back in 2018, 2020, and last year in 2021. Edwards also has one career Open Sportsman win back on 5/30/2009.
Luke Horning broke the win streak of Nick Stone last Saturday at Fonda in the Algonkin Motel Pro Stock division scoring his first win of the 2022 season and the 26th of his career in the division with the first win coming back on 6/16/2012. Horning has one Track Championship in the Pro Stock division back in 2019, and before he moved up to the Pro Stock division he had a total of six wins in the Street Stock division, the first one coming back on 7/12/2003 and the last on 5/10/2008 before he moved up to the Pro Stock division.
If you are a race fan that gets to the track early, be sure to check out the Fonda Speedway Museum & Hall of Fame which is located on the Fonda Fairgrounds at the rear of the parking area going down towards turn four. The museum is open from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on race days and admission is free!
Since 1953, the “Track of Champions� Fonda Speedway has hosted the best in stock car racing. Under the management of BD Motorsports Media LLC, the speedway will operate weekly on Saturday nights from April through August plus several special events.
