Nick Hoffman enters North/South weekend at Florence

Nick Hoffman and Scott Bloomquist Racing rolled into Kentucky’s Florence Speedway on Thursday afternoon as the 2021 edition of the Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 weekend kicked off the $10,000-to-win North/South Shootout. With 46 entries on hand for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) affair, Nick hit the ground running and was running in a transfer spot in his heat race before his nose folded under on the final lap, causing him to slow in turn four.

Buried deep in a B-Main starting grid, the team decided to scratch from the remainder of the program to get ready for Friday’s action.

On Friday evening preliminary action for the 39th annual Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 was held as 46 competitors participated in double heat races. A fourth and a fifth-place finish in his respective heats left Hoffman short of locking into the feature. He started fourth in a B-Main on Saturday, and raced into the third-and-final transfer position, which earned him the 21st-starting spot for the 100-lap finale.

Nick enjoyed a great run in the $50,000-To-Win crown jewel finale as he advanced 14 positions to finish seventh at the checkered flag in front of a capacity crowd.
