Roderick wins Blizzard Race & Championship; Finish of all 3 Races

Roderick Scores Deep South Cranes 100 Victory, Fourth Blizzard Title

Casey Roderick’s magical ride shows no signs of slowing down.
The Georgia driver, who calls Mississippi home these days, has been rock solid in a Super Late Model for Anthony Campi Racing. He has three wins, including back-to-back triumphs in the month of September. The last of which came Saturday night at Five Flags Speedway on the Harvesters Credit Union Night of Champions.
Roderick started on the pole and rode in the top three all night before making a late pass of Cole Butcher to win the Deep South Cranes 100. With the victory, Roderick erased a double-digit points deficit to Stephen Nasse in the Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series and claimed his fourth career Blizzard Series track championship.
He also wrapped up the Southern Super Series title Saturday and has a massive points lead in the ASA STARS National Tour standings, which will be decided at Nashville in November.
“We’ve been working really hard to get to this point,” Roderick said of his Campi team. “We probably didn’t have the best car tonight. Cole was strong, but we hung in there.
“I’m so thankful to bring home these Blizzard Series and Southern Super Series championships. They’re special to me. And to get it in winning fashion, that makes it even better.”
It marks Roderick’s fourth career Blizzard Series crown and it’s his third time to hoist the Southern Super Series title.
Two weeks after winning at Toledo during a STARS stop, Roderick continues to build momentum before the 57th annual Snowball Derby during the first week of December.
“There are a lotta good drivers out here,” he said. “I’m thankful to have the opportunity I have and showcase my talents.”
John Bolen finished runner-up and Giovanni Ruggiero was third.
Butcher was racing for the first time in months after health problems sidelined him following a torrid start to 2024. He was strong Saturday, leading from Lap 5 to Lap 98 until Roderick saw his chance following a late caution.
“I got (Butcher) on that restart and it was a gamechanger for us,” he said. “We were duking it out and I had a lotta fun racing him. He’s a heckuva wheelman.”
Nasse watched his lead shrink to just six points following a poor qualifying effort and Roderick’s run to the pole. Despite starting 18th, Nasse found his way to the top-five and was in an ideal position to capture the Blizzard Series championship until disaster struck late.
Bolen got by him less than 10 laps from the finish and Nasse began falling like a rock quickly. As cars past him, Nasse saw the chance at immortality at Five Flags go up in smoke once again. He lost the 2022 Blizzard title to Bubba Pollard by a single point.
“We put ourselves in a hole with qualifying,” Nasse said. “It was not a good effort, but it’s par for the course. It’s OK it didn’t go our way tonight. The Derby is gonna be ours this year.”

Allen Turner Hyundai Pro Late Models
Carson Brown laid the foundation for a monumental night for Anthony Campi Racing.
Before Casey Roderick—Browns’s Super Late Model teammate with ACR—brought home the Blizzard Series track championship on Saturday at Five Flags Speedway, it was the 16-year-old snagging the night’s first piece of hardware.
Brown finished runner-up in the Allen Turner Pro Late Model 100 and easily secured the Allen Turner Hyundai PLM Series title. Jake Finch won the race and Seth Christensen—Brown’s closest competitor—rounded out the podium in third.
“It feels really good,” Brown said. “We didn’t know where we were in points until the second-to-last race when we saw we were actually close. This team worked their (tails) off.
“It’s cool to be here and win a championship at this historic track.”
Brown and Christensen started the 100-lapper side-by-side, and the rivals raced that way for the opening five laps before Christensen finally took an early lead and Brown fell in line.
Christensen, who won 2024’s first two PLM races, faced a 15-point deficit coming into the race after Brown won the pole and out-qualified Christensen by one spot.
“For not having the budget of some of these other guys, I’m pretty proud for what we’ve accomplished,” Christensen said. “We have high expectations, but I can’t complain.”
He held the lead for almost 30 laps until Brown got around him by passing Christensen on the outside.
Despite having some terrific restarts following cautions, Brown was caught by Finch and surrendered the lead on Lap 86.
“I’m super glad to be a part of this team,” Finch said. “To be able to drive and win races for (crew chief and car owner Ronnie Sanders) is super cool.”

Story and Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks
More than three decades have come and gone since Doug Thorpe Jr. celebrated a title at Five Flags Speedway.
The long drought mercifully ended Saturday night as Five Flags closed its regular season with the Harvesters Credit Union Night of Champions. Thorpe’s third-place finish in the Story and Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks 25-lap feature was more than enough to clinch the track championship.
Adam Salter, of Andalusia, Ala., won his second feature of the year and former multi-time Pure Stocks track and Derby champion Robert Loper finished runner-up.
“Man, it feels good,” an elated Thorpe said. “It’s been 32 years since I won a championship at this racetrack.
“I’m having so much fun doing this. This a lotta fun racing with these guys. It’s some of the best racing out here.”
Twenty-three cars took the green with Loper quickly moving out front four laps in. He yielded the lead to Salter on Lap 20 after the pair raced side-by-side for several laps.
“I’m glad to be here (in Victory Lane) at the end of the race,” Salter said. “It’s the most fun I’ve ever had, racing these cars.”
The Crown Stocks will have their Snowball Derby race on Preview Day in November. There will be an invitational race during the week of the 57th annual Snowball Derby.
