Several ARCA Drivers Have 5 Flags Experience
ARCA Entry List Coming Together For Five Flags Speedway Event
March 13-14 Weekend To Feature Four Action Packed Classes
(Pensacola, FL) Entries continue to file in for next weekend’s racing doubleheader at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. Headlining the March 13-14 weekend will be the Pensacola 200 presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions for ARCA Menards Series East. In addition, the Vore’s Compact Touring Series will be making its debut at the track, while Outlaws and Pure Stocks will also be in action. Reserved and general admission tickets for the weekend are on sale by calling the track office.
Headlining the list of those entered already for the event is Franklin, WI driver Sam Mayer. The teenage driver has started his season two-for-two, winning the East race at New Smyrna Speedway and backing it up with the West win in Las Vegas. Mayer was the East champion last year with four wins in twelve starts.
Ty Gibbs, grandson of legendary NFL coach and NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs, will be driving the Monster Energy #18, looking to do one better from his finish at the track a year ago. After starting tenth at the March event in 2019, Gibbs finished second to Christian Eckes. Gibbs finished third at the New Smyrna season opener in February.
Former Five Flags Speedway Pro Late Model champion, Bret Holmes, 2019 CRA Speedfest winner Connor Okrzesik, 2020 CRA Speedfest winner Corey Heim, and 2019 Rattler winner Giovanni Bromante are also looking for their first ARCA wins.
Other drivers already confirmed for the event include Max McLaughlin, Chase Cabre, Nick Sanchez, Brandon Oakley, Mason Diaz, Tristan VanWieringen, Parker Retzlaff, and Daniel Dye. Three teams have yet to announce their driver for the weekend, while a couple of others, including some big names, have yet to officially be announced.
The Vore’s Compact Touring Series will be making their first appearance at the track. 30+ drivers are expected to race at the home of the Snowball Derby. The Compacts will have prelims/qualifying races on Friday and their feature on Saturday.
Two of the track’s staple divisions will also be exciting those in the stands as the Outlaws will run on Friday night and the Pure Stocks will run Saturday night.
Friday, March 13 action will begin with practice from 3:00-6:00 PM with the ARCA Menards Series East, followed by Vore’s Compact and Outlaw practice from 6:00-7:00 and qualifying from 7:00-7:45. Racing for the Vore’s Compacts and Outlaws will be taking the green at 8:00 PM with a post race party at the new Beef O’ Brady’s location.
Saturday, March 14 will see ARCA on track for practice at 1:00 PM, followed by Vore’s Compact practice as well as Pure Stock practice/qualifying. Feature racing will begin at 4:00 PM with Vore’s Compacts and Pure Stocks. ARCA General Tire pole qualifying will take the green at 5:00 PM, on track autographs will begin at 5:40, and the Pensacola 200 presented by Inspectra Thermal Solutions will go green for ARCA at 7:00 PM.
