Erb sixth in Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
Tyler Erb embarked on the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream on Thursday afternoon at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) aboard his Bulk Material Lift No. 1 Late Model.
Amassing 95 Late Models for the three-day event, Erb edged his way into a prelim with a fourth-place finish in his heat race. Rolling off 15th for the 25-lap feature, Tyler suffered a hurt motor while running 11th that sidelined him on lap 14.
For another round of preliminary features on Friday, Tyler laid down the seventh-fastest time in his group in a brand new power plant before going third-to-first in his heat. Battling more bad luck in his prelim, Erb headed pitside on lap 15 of the 25-lapper.
With preliminary points placing him on the third row of his heat race on Saturday afternoon, Erb’s fifth-to-second showing positioned him 12th on the starting grid for the $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Nearly cracking the top-five, Tyler advanced forward six positions in the 100-lap affair to register a sixth-place finish.
For the six-figure payday on Monday with the XR Super Series at Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Ind.), Tyler grabbed the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which placed him on the seventh row for the $100,000-to-win 100K Upgrade A-Main. Improving six positions in the 100-lapper, Erb steered to a seventh-place finish.
