Mike Marlar
Podium finish in Castrol FNiA stop at Brownstown
Mike Marlar was one of 49 Late Models entered at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Tuesday afternoon as the Castrol FloRacing Night in America was able to get underway after a pair of rainouts delayed the tour opener. Following the third-fastest lap in his group, Marlar posted a second-place finish his heat, which came behind Jonathan Davenport. With recent rain making for rough track conditions, Mike was an early retiree from the 30-lap feature on the second circuit. (Josh James Artwork)
For the second round of the 13-race miniseries on Wednesday at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Ind.), Mike topped the 47-car field in time trials before capturing a heat race triumph. Earning the pole positon for the $22,022-to-win A-Main, Marlar paced the field for the first five laps but was unable to hold off a charging Jonathan Davenport, marking him third when the checkered flag flew. He trailed Davenport and Bobby Pierce to the checkers.
With the first two events complete, Mike is currently ninth in the Castrol FloRacing Night in America point standings.
