Oberkramer visits East Bay for Wrisco Winternationals

Mason Oberkramer was back in action on Monday afternoon at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) piloting his Premier Flatwork No. 93 Late Model for the Wrisco Winternationals. With a stout field of 70 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries amassed, Mason took part in his heat race but was a scratch from his 10-lap consolation event.

After Mother Nature washed out Tuesday’s program, Oberkramer’s 12th-place finish in his heat race on Wednesday relegated him into the B-Main. Sending the Top 2 into the A-Main, Mason passed 10 cars but fell short of a transfer position with an eighth-place finish.

For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Mason timed in 18th-fastest in his group before placing sixth in his heat. Needing to finish second or better in his B-Main, Oberkramer faded back to a 14th-place outing.

On Friday evening, Oberkramer followed up a ninth-place finish in his heat with a 12th-to-sixth run in his consolation event, ending his night early.

To wrap up the Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Mason came in ninth in his heat, leaving him with one final shot at the $15,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. Locking in the Top 2, Mason’s night was over after placing ninth.
