Pierce competes with LOLMDS at East Bay

On Wednesday night, Pierce McCarter invaded East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) to test the waters with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) for the Wrisco Winternationals. With a stout field of 75 Late Models entered, McCarter dropped three spots in his heat race to finish ninth, relegating him into the B-Main. For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Pierce logged a 12th-place finish in his heat, sending him into a consolation event. Taking the Top 2, McCarter’s night was over after placing 15th.

The following night, McCarter followed up the 25th-fastest time in his group with a 12th-place finish in his heat. Needing to finish second or better in his B-Main, Mack logged a 14th-place outing.

To wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Pierce came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth-place finish, giving him one final shot at the $15,000-to-win finale with a B-Main appearance. He was slated to start on the pole but was a scratch from the 10-lapper.
