David Breazeale opens 2021 season at East Bay Raceway Park
Henderson Motorsports and David Breazeale kicked off their 2021 season on Monday afternoon at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) for the 45th annual Wrisco Winternationals. Drawing a stout field of 76 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Breazeale recorded a sixth place finish in his heat race, transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Needing to place second or better to make the show, David fell short with an eighth-place outing. He had one last shot at the show with the Berry Barn Strawberry Dash but elected to scratch and save equipment. (Heath Lawson photos)
The following night, David came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place outing, leaving him one last shot at the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature with a B-Main appearance. Locking in the Top 2, Breazeale slipped back to a 15th-place finish.
For the third round of the Wrisco Winternationals on Wednesday, Breazeale posted a sixth place finish in his heat, sending him into the B-Main.
With Mother Nature postponing his B-Main to late Thursday evening, David came two spots shy of a transfer position with a fourth-place finish.
For Thursday night’s full program, Breazeale finished eighth in his heat, giving him one more shot at the $7,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Transferring the Top 2, David fell short with a fourth-place outing.
On Friday night, David was an early retiree from his heat race on the sixth lap, sending him into the B-Main. Slated to start near the tail, Breazeale elected to save equipment and withdrew from competition for the remainder of the weekend.
