Race Recap and Results: Brady Bencken, Tathen Burkhart and Gage Porter Dominate Thursday Night Thunder

Dodge City, Kansas (www.racedcrp.com) - Thursday Night Thunder at Dodge City Raceway Park presented fans witnessing some great racing all night, as Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars and Sport Compacts competed.

The night started with preliminary action, and after the heat races were done, the lineups were set for the feature races.

The IMCA Sport Compacts started the night with their 10-lap feature, which seen the #69G of Gage Porter, (Hays, Kansas), grab the checkered flag.

In the Stock Car feature event, it was a family affair, as Tathen Burkhart led the way in front of his dad Troy Burkhart. The #250 of Tathen Burkhart, (Hays, Kansas), dominated the race, leading all 20-laps to grab his first win at Dodge City Raceway Park this season.

With the Hobby Stocks left to impress, it was action packed all 20-laps. With at total of 9 caution flags and a duration of 30 plus minutes, the #711 of Brady Bencken, (Oakley, Kansas), battled his way around the #77 of Cody Williams, (Minneapolis, Kansas), and never looked back. With strong contenders in the field, Bencken made it very clear that he was in charge of this race.

The next scheduled event at Dodge City Raceway Park will be Friday, August 16th with the American Sprint Car Series and NOW600 Series competing. Pits open at 3PM, Gates open at 5PM and racing starts at 7PM. Pit Passes cost $35.00 and General Admission is $25.00. Kids 12 and Under are free (Does not include pit pass). The event will be streamed live on DirtVision.
