2024 Season Starts On Schedule

Delmar, DE -

Saturday, April 27, even with the scattered rain didn't stop the drivers and fans from making the trip to Delaware International Speedway for the 2024 Season Opener. Six classes lined up down pit road with the goal of receiving the Big Check!

The night started with Blue Hen Disposal 602 Sportsman division. After the redraw, Bryce Bashore from Bethel, PA ending up in front with the pole position to start the race. Bashore couldn't keep Joe Toth, who started 5th from taking the front and the checkered flag on the finishing lap. It was a tight finish with James Hill, Bashore, Scott Hitchens and Jason Musser on Toth's bumper trying to pass him on the final lap. This win places Toth in 1st place of points for the season opener.

After the redraw, Ben Scott was the pole position holder in the Elliott Farms Crate Late Model class. Trevor Collins jumped out to an early lead and in the closing laps, Matt Hill was able to haul him down and park his number 84 Elliott Farms 604 Late Model in Victory Lane placing him in 1st place of points for 2024. Trevor Collins followed Hill to the checkered with little room to spare.

Millman's NAPA Auto Parts Big Block Modified began the race night with 18 entries, a great start to the season, all trying to get the $2,500 to win check. The Feature Line up placed Joseph Watson of Milford, DE on the pole position following the redraw. He was able to carry that start to the checkered flag with Austin Hubbard and Carson Wright mere seconds behind. It was a fight to the finish for all 3.

United Racing Club (URC) visited DIS with an 18 car field to start the Feature. the #89 Robbie Stillwagon taking the pole to start the race was unable to finish the feature giving the checkered flag to Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA. Delaware fans were excited to see the URC's back at Delaware International with a great showing of competitors.
