Delaware International Speedway Introduces New Streaming Platform for 2024; FloRacing Elects Not to Return
Delmar, DE -
Delaware International Speedway (DIS) has received news that the FloRacing Rights and Acquisition Team has decided to pass on DIS for 2024. In December, SDM Promotions reached out to the Rights and Acquisition Team to review a partnership renewal for 2024 and were told they have elected to pass on the facility for 2024. After receiving the news, SDM asked Dustin Jarrett of FloRacing to provide further detail about the decision, to which he stated, "The #1 goal for Rights and Acquisition is for the partnership to be fruitful for everyone. When it isn't successful for both sides, it's typically time to re-evaluate." Determined to make every effort possible for the local and regional fans to have DIS on the FloRacing platform, last week, SDM Promotions reached out once again to see if they could find a way to fit DIS on the FloRacing schedule. The Rights and Acquisition team again did an in-depth review, but were still unable to commit to DIS. After the final review, Jarrett went on to explain "there are just not enough resources to invest in DIS to showcase the track in the way it needs and rightfully deserves."
With the news of FloRacing’s departure, SDM Promotions set out to find a new option for streaming in 2024. That search lead to working with Diamond State Digital (DSD) owners Chad Cathell and Wayne “Scooter” Smith, who together with SDM, have found a new platform to stream the Speedway events in 2024. After an in-depth review of the available pay-per-view platforms, we are pleased to announce that the speedway shows will be produced by DSD for the 2024 season. In addition, as part of the partnership, DSD will also cover select US 13 Dragway events that will be announced to the public soon!
When reviewing the Live Streaming program for 2024, SDM Promotions acknowledged that it is important to utilize the technology available to us to allow those that are unable to attend an event to have the capability to watch from anywhere in the world. In response to today’s common question about whether to stream or not to stream, Mark Cathell states, "We have a number of fans that live hours from the track, and that, along with a combination of either time, age, or distance, does not allow them to be in the seats for our races. It is important to have the online presence available to our fans!"
SDM Promotions is excited about the new direction for streaming in 2024, and again, we apologize to those FloRacing fans that subscribe annually to watch dirt track races. However, we would like everyone to please know that we gave every effort possible to have FloRacing return for the 2024 season. We look forward to having you tune into our new platform for 2024 and beyond!
More information about the new streaming platform for Delaware International Speedway will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.
