Delmar Night at DIS to Honor Corporal Heacook
This Saturday, May 1st, at Delaware International Speedway is Delmar Night.
This year, Delmar Night at the speedway is in dedication to our local police officer and hero, Keith Heacook.
The track will host it’s season opener with classes such as Modifieds, Super Late Models, AC Delco Modifieds, Rush Late Models, Mod-Lites, and Delmarva Chargers.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps starting at 6:45 p.m..
General admission is $15 and pit tickets are $30. Anyone that shows an I.D. with a Delmar, DE or Delmar, MD address will receive free spectator admission for the evening.
In honor of Corporal Keith Heacook there will be several raffle and auction items on site that will help benefit Keith Heacook’s son. Several items such as offshore fishing trips, hotel stays, and more.
A $25 ticket in addition to your general admission is available for purchase. With this ticket you will receive a pork sandwich, a bag of chips, two drinks and 10 tickets towards the Chinese auction.
This Saturday night, we will take Delmar Night to the next level in his honor, and we will start by asking everyone to wear Blue and/or Orange to the races on Saturday.
Our hearts hurt for Corporal Keith Heacook, his family, friends, the Delmar Police Department, and our Delmar Community. While he hasn’t in the past few years, Keith worked at the facility for several years doing off duty security. You could find him smiling in his lawn chair at the front or back gate, welcoming everyone, and keeping everyone safe for many years.
You also will be able to make donations towards the family of our fallen hero.
If you have any questions please call the speedway office at 302-846-3911 Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
