Delaware International Speedway
Motorsports To Return To The First State
After a hiatus since March 8th, engines will once again be allowed to roar to life on Delaware soil beginning May 30th! After extensive talks between US 13 Dragway & Delaware International Speedway owner Charles Cathell, Georgetown Speedway promoter Brett Deyo, Delaware State Representative Tim Dukes, and Delaware Governor John Carney, all parties have come to a mutual agreement to resume racing in the first state. The Cathell Family would like to take this time to express their extreme gratitude for the efforts put forth by Representative Dukes, Governor Carney, and Damian, the Director at the Division of Small Business to allow us to reopen our business.
The Delaware International Speedway will kick off the first event of the season for the ½ mile dirt oval beginning at 5 pm on Saturday, May 30th. Racers & crew members will be allowed entry beginning at 5, with a Test and Tune scheduled for 6-9 pm. The drivers meeting will be conducted via Facebook Live and the track radio station 88.9 fm to allow drivers and crew to remain at their pit areas and help promote social distancing. To allow race fans to experience the sensation of Delaware Dirt Track racing a free live feed of the event will be provided via Facebook Live on the Delaware Racing facebook page.

As we enter this new phase of normal the Cathell family will be doing all they can to help promote a safe environment for staff & all who attend. We will be adding plastic sneeze guard protection in the concession stands, and will constantly remind everyone about practicing safe social distancing standards via the track radio and PA system. If you feel as if you should wear a mask please feel free to do so. If you have any symptoms of an infectious disease we STRONGLY RECOMMEND and ask you to stay home and do not attend. If you are healthy and wish to attend the races you are doing so at your own risk. The US 13 Dragway or Delaware International Speedway assumes no responsibility for the spread of any infectious disease.
