Delaware International Speedway Brings New Ideas and a Revamped Schedule for 2020 Campaign!

With the release of the 2020 schedule drivers and fans will see a whole new look for 2020 with a touch of Saturday night nostalgia. Bigger paydays will be on tap for several divisions 2020 with two Bonus payout nights during the season! The 2020 season will also pickup where the 2019 season left off with the rescheduled Delaware Dirt Track Championships on February 29th and March 1st, and for the first time in many years the event will return to its former daytime schedule format to open the season.

The Raelyn Huffman Memorial returns to the Delaware International Speedway on April 15th as the $4,000 to win RUSH Crate Late Model series will kick off the 4 race Battle of the Bay series.

The Short Track Super Series will roar back to the 1/2 Mile Dirt oval on April 29th, and fans will be sure to Mark this one in their calendars as it will be the first time the Modifieds and 602 Sportsman take to the surface for the season.

On Friday, May 29th and Friday, June 11th the Hurlock Auto & Speed Modifieds will see an increase in pay with a $2,500 to win and $200 to take the green. The AC Delco Modifieds and RUSH Crate Models will also get in on the extra cash up for grabs as their divisions will pay $500 to win and $50 to take the green on those nights as well.

Noticeably different for the 2020 schedule will be the limited schedule for the Super Late Model division. With special events that include high payouts in the surrounding area luring drivers out of town track owner, Charlie Cathell, knew he would have to work with drivers of the division to help boost car count on nights they are on the DIS schedule. Delaware International still plans to host enough events to allow drivers to compete for a points championship.

Fans of the “Winged Warriors will certainly get their taste fulfilled in 2020 as the Mid-Atlantic and URC Sprint series will compete a combined six times during the season. The USAC wingless sprints will also make the trip to DIS twice in 2020.
