ATTENTION RACE TEAMS RULES, PROCEDURES AND SCHEDULE REVISIONS
Attention Racers
The staff of the Delaware International Speedway has two revisions to the 2018 Track Rules and Procedures. As of May 1, 2018, these new revisions will take effect. Please be sure to take the time to review:
Section
PROCEDURES
Line #8 currently states ~
8. A driver can only compete in one division per night in a regular points program.
"Revision"
8. A driver can only compete in one division on a regular points night in which all 5 weekly classes participate. On nights where all 5 are competing, a driver may compete in one division and one support division. Support division meaning Super Trucks, Vintage, Little Lincoln and Delmarva Chargers. (Example: Super Late Models & Vintage Stock Cars)
New ruling (May 1, 2018) A driver may compete in a maximum of 2 divisions on any specialty events and/or events where all 5 divisions will not be competing, or a non-points event.
Example: Non Points events - Full Throttle Series and Camp Barnes. Example: Points events - Mid Atlantic 305 Sprints, Inaugural Sportsman Nationals or Inaugural Triple Crown.
If a driver chooses to compete in any of the specialty/non-weekly events, where they will drive in a second division. The driver will be required to pay a second entry fee of $50. This fee must be paid before the first heat race takes the track. Entry fee will be paid at pit registration.
QUALIFYING AND LINE UP PROCEDURES - ALL DIVISIONS
RULES 1 - 7 Will remain the same.
Addition - 8. On weekly events where all 5 divisions compete, we will continue with the current points average system for Heat and Feature positions. On event night where all 5 divisions WILL NOT be competing, we will use the number draw system for Heat positions and Heads Up positioning for the Feature events.
ATTENTION DIS RACE TEAMS
After lengthy discussions this morning, the management team of the Delaware International Speedway has made the decision to make three events on the 2018 schedule "Non-Points" races. The following races will now become "Non-Points events." Starting with, Saturday, May 5th, then Saturday August 18th and finally Saturday September 8th. This decision was based on the new procedure and ruling changes posted and put into effect May 1, 2018.
We feel these events offer increased purse structures which we hope to bring in race teams outside our local area. To be completely fair to our local teams who support us on our weekly programs, it will not take away their chances at a championship contingency. On these events, drivers will draw for heat race starting positions and feature line ups will be on a heads up system.
This Saturday night will be one of the events which have been listed above. It will feature the Mid Atlantic 305 Sprints, $2000 to win Super Late Model 25 lap main event and $1000 to win 20 lap Rush Late Model feature! Also joining these three divisions, will be the Mod Lites, Super Trucks and Little Lincoln Stock Cars.
Thank you Track Management
