EXTREME HEAT CONDITION FORCE TRACK OFFICIALS TO CANCEL
This summers heat wave has begun in the 1st state. Weather services are forecasting some of the highest temps and heat index readings of the season fro this weekend. Track officials have been monitoring these reports and warnings of unsafe air quality conditions. The decision was made to cancel all schedule events at the Delaware International Speedway for the weekend July 21 - 23.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, states Charles Cathell promoter of DIS. We have to factor in many things when making these types of decisions. After weighing the pro's & con's, it was in the best interest of our employee's, racers and fans to cancel this weekends event, says Cathell.
Please take precautions when venturing out the next few days in these extreme heat conditions!
