ANDREW MULLINS GETS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON IN LATE MODELS
Rookie Kellie Lewis would start on the pole in the 20-lap S.R. Pete & Sons Super Late Model feature but it would be defending point champion, Andrew Mullins heading lap one. Nick Davis was running strong and followed into the second spot with Herb Tunis holding down third.
Ricky Elliott wasted no time moving from his seventh starting spot into the fourth position while Donald Lingo, Jr. challenged in fifth. The order remained unchanged through halfway. With eight to go, Elliott got out of the groove and slipped off the top of turn four. He was able to continue and the race stayed green but Lingo, Jr. took advantage of the slip to take fourth.
Mullins was able to open a comfortable lead was the race went flag to flag without a caution. For Mullins, it was his first win of the season. Davis ended a good run in second with Tunis also turning in a solid performance to finish in third. Fourth went to Lingo, Jr. and Elliott rounded out the top five. Heats were won by Mullins and Davis.
