JOE WARREN WINS FEATURE & CHAMPIONSHIP IN CRATE MODELS
The Crate Model championship went right down to the final night. Dylan Evans set fast time in qualifying for the second week in a row but an eight car inversion draw would put Eric Vent on the pole and the top two point contenders, Joe Warren and Mike Wharton in second and third respectively.
Vent would lead the first lap before Warren moved on top. Wharton followed into the second spot and the chase was on. Reese Masiello worked his way by Sparky White for fourth on lap six and Evans held fifth for a lap before Jamie Eichholz took the spot.
The only caution of the event was on lap nine when Kellie Lewis got around. Warren got a good restart and was able to hold off Wharton to the finish for his sixth win of the season and his fifth overall championship in the division. Matt Hill came on strong in the closing laps to finish in third with Vent fourth and Masiello fifth.
