RICKY ELLIOTT GETS EIGHTH WIN IN FIRST OF 20 LAP TWINS FOR LATE MODELS
Amanda Whaley and David Hill won the pair of qualifiers for the Super Late Models. A ten car inversion draw would put them at the back of the field and put Kelly Putz on the pole. Putz elected to start at the rear and Nick Davis became the pole sitter. Davis led the first lap before Brandon Dennis took the lead.
Dennis would hold the top spot for only one lap as both he and Davis slid high in the second turn and Elliott shot to the bottom to take the lead. Once out front, Elliott was able to pull away from the pack. With the race staying green, Donald Lingo, Jr. was able to work his way past Dennis for second. One lap later the first and only caution of the race flew when Davis slowed going into the first turn.
On the restart Elliott remained on top with Lingo, Jr. keeping him in site. David Hill worked past Dennis for third as Staci Warrington moved into the top five. Elliott was not to be caught and drove to his eighth win of the season. Lingo, Jr. finished in second and Dennis got back by Hill on the final lap to finish in third. Fourth went to Hill and Warrington rounded out the top five.
