SPARKY WHITE GETS FIRST CRATE VICTORY
The 15-lap Crate Model feature provided another first time winner. A four car inversion put Sparky White on the pole. White took full advantage of the situation by quickly pulling away in the lead. Matt Hill passed Gus Economedies for second and Mike Wharton followed into third. By halfway Nick Davis had joined the trio in fourth and John Imler ran in fifth.
With White setting the pace Hill and Wharton put on a wild battle for second. Wharton ran the inside with Hill running a ragged edge in the high groove and Davis made it a three car battle. Hill’s drive would end two laps short when the front suspension broke.
White was far from being out of the woods as the caution would fly three times with just one lap to go. Sparky made no mistakes and posted his first win in the division. Wharton finished in the second spot with Davis third. Point leader Joe Warren finished in the fourth spot with Clint Chalabala fifth. Wharton set fast time in qualifying
