PIONEERS OF DELMARVA RACING TO ATTEND BLAST FROM THE PAST
BlastRosterBy Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – The Delaware International Speedway has put out the “Welcome� matt and has gotten a tremendous response to the “Blast from the Past� Reunion Saturday night, August 27th along with the “King of Kings� shoot-out for Super Late Model feature winners, the five weekly divisions and the Little Lincoln Vintage cars.
The speedway sent out an open invitation early in the season to any driver or owner that had competed at a Delaware track to be the guest of the speedway on Saturday night. In what turned out to be an amazing response, 150 people have responded and plan to attend.
Some of the drivers and owners from the past that have indicated that they will be in attendance are: Walt Breeding, Ed Brown, Sr. & Jr., Harold Bunting, Ken Covey, Ronnie Denston, Earl Derr, Elwood Driscoll, Harry Dutton, Oscar Fields, Gary Gollub, Kelly Hastings, Jimmy Goslee, Clem Horvath, Richard Jarvis, Ken Jefferson, Ron Keys, Tommy Long, Johnny Martin, III, Buck Myers, Bob Passwaters, Charles Phillips, Blaine Sadler, Jack Sapp, Bill Towers, Haines Tull, P.J. Walker, Bruce Webb, Bobby Walls, Raymond White and Paul Whitelock to name a few.
The drivers will be treated to a special hospitality tent before the night’s racing and will participate in interviews and meeting the fans during intermission. It will be a great opportunity for fans to meet some of their favorites from the past.
