DONALD LINGO, JR. MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW IN DELAWARE LATE MODELS

Donald Lingo, Jr. may have gotten off to a slow start this season but it looks like the three time Super Late Model champion may just be hitting his stride once again. Lingo started on the pole and ran a hid from the rest of the field.

The first half of the race was all under the green with Lingo pulling away to a half track lead over Kerry King by lap seven. Andrew Mullins and Kenny Pettyjohn made it three wide with King in the battle for second but contact found Mullins sitting at the bottom of turn three and the yellow was out.

Lingo again shot away on the restart with King battling with Kenny Pettyjohn for second while Staci Warrington held off Mark Byram for fourth.

Lingo, Jr. made it look easy as he powered to his second straight win this season. “It feels good after all the bad luck we have had this year to get two in a row tonight, said Lingo. “Our car was so perfect tonight you could have gone out to Salisbury Zoo and stuck a monkey in it and it would have won.

King held off Kenny Pettyjohn by four one-thousandths of a second to finish in second. Byram got by Warrington on the final lap to finish in fourth and fifth respectively. Heats we won by Lingo, Jr. and King.
