MATT JESTER WINS SECOND STRAIGHT IN DELAWARE MODIFIEDS

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (5/28/11) – Matt “the Joker Jester was no joke on Saturday night as he dominated the R.C. Holloway sponsored 25-lap Big Block Modified feature. It was the second straight win for the driver of the Clearview Farms/Bicknell.

Beau Wilkins led the first two laps before Jester, who started in fourth, shot to the top. By lap six Jester was already working the back of the field. As he threaded through the traffic both Wilkins and Joseph Watson tried to keep him in sight. H.J. Bunting was on the move from seventh and by lap sixth was running in fourth with Robert Dutton holding down fifth.

As the lead pack worked through traffic Bunting got by Watson for third. He drive however would end on lap 15 when he slowed to a stop coming off turn two to bring out the first yellow. Jester controlled the restart but a three car tangle involving Shawn Ward, Kyle Fuller and Jerry Carter had the second and final yellow quickly displayed.

With the rest of the race run under the green, Jester was once again able to open a comfortable lead and cruise to his second victory of the season. Wilkins turned in another solid performance to finish in second with Watson third. Fourth went to Dutton and Kenny Brightbill came from 12th to finish in fifth. Heats were won by Jester and Watson.

“We’ve hit on something, said Jester. “You never know what it is when you hit on it. We are just trying to keep the car in one piece and roll on. It was a real good car tonight.
