By USMTS PR (Winston, MO) -- The Casey's Hunt for the USMTS National Championship roars into the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., this Wednesday, Aug. 14, for the 10th Annual USMTS Missouri Meltdown presented by MyRacePass.com.

Sixteen United States Modified Touring Series races have taken place at Mike and Kyle Johnson's 3/8-mile clay oval since John Allen won the first-ever show on March 29, 2002, at what was then called Winston Speedway.

Two-time USMTS national champ Ryan Gustin has three wins to his credit here. Ricky Thornton Jr. claimed the most recent victory here last April, and former winners include Kelly Shryock, John Van Den Berg, Scott Drake, Mark Noble, Ron Ver Beek, Stormy Scott, Jason Hughes, Johnny Scott and current USMTS national points leader Rodney Sanders.

Hunter Marriott of nearby Brookfield, Mo., competed on a weekly basis at the track early in his racing career and now sits third in the Casey's General Stores USMTS National Championship points behind Sanders and Dereck Ramirez.

Fans can meet Marriott at the Casey's General Store located at 405 Grand Ave. in Cameron, Mo., on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. While you're there, pick up your coupon good for $2 off adult general admission at the races.

Along with the United States Modified Touring Series, the on-track action will feature American Racer USRA Stock Cars and Out-Pace USRA B-Mods with track, regional and national points awarded in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series. E-Mods with also be in competition racing for track points.

The pit gate opens at 3:30 p.m., grandstands open at 4 and the drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:30. Hot laps begin at 7 with racing getting underway at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for general admission. Seniors (62+) and juniors (12-16) are $15. Children 11 and under are $5. Pit passes are $35.

Concessions are available throughout the facility, and the Trackside Bar & Grill overlooking the racing in turn 1 is a fan and driver favorite for dinner. Large tenderloins, hot fries, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, sweet funnel cakes, root beer floats, beverages of your choice, free parking and mom-approved restrooms are just some of the comforts available at the I-35 Speedway.

The I-35 Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile dirt oval located just east of the interstate at exit 64. Built in 1994, the track was purchased by the Johnsons in 2007 and hosts weekly racing events from March through October. On Thursday, the Dallas County Speedway in Urbana, Mo., hosts the USMTS for the first time for the inaugural Bullring Bash presented by Hooker Harness, and then on Friday, the series invades the Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., in an event presented by PEM Racing Gears & Drivetrain.

The 96-hour grind wraps up Saturday at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Pryor Creek, Okla., for the 7th Annual Salute to Veterans presented by Bryke Racing.
