THOMPSON CAPTURES POINTS LEAD WITH STRONG GOV CUP WEEKEND
Alex Thompson started on the pole for the IMCA Sport Compact feature. Thompson accumulated the most passing points to lead the field to the green flag. Thompson pulled away quickly as Krys Yost challenged Ken Sandberg for second. They briefly raced side by side until Yost took the position on lap two. However, it was too little too late for Yost as Alex Thompson led all 12 laps to dominate the feature and capture the Gov Cup Championship. Krys Yost finished runner-up ahead of points leader Ken Sandberg. Aiden Wagner, who picked up the victory on Night 1 of the North Dakota Governor’s Cup finished fourth while Paul Schuh finished fifth.
