Former NASCAR Driver Kenny Wallace to Race at Dacotah Speedway
Mandan, ND – Dacotah Speedway is excited to announce that former NASCAR driver, Kenny Wallace, is planning to race at Dacotah Speedway during the during the North Dakota Governors Cup Auto Races presented by Budweiser and McQuade Distributing on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.
Wallace, first started racing on dirt back in 1982, racing his dad’s Street Stock. He won his first race the first time he hopped behind the wheel. Wallace quickly climbed the racing ranks and made his Nascar debut driving for the late Dale Earnhardt in 1988. He spent 27 years racing in NASCAR’S premier racing series before stepping back to focus on dirt track racing.
Since then, Wallace has been travelling the country racing modifieds. He will make his first trip to Dacotah Speedway on Thursday, July 30th for a practice evening at the speedway. Pit gates will open at 5:00pm with a test and tune starting promptly at 6:00pm. Pit fee will be $25 for drivers and pit crews but race fans can watch for free from the grandstands.
Wallace will make his Dacotah Speedway debut on Friday, July 31st for Night 1 of the North Dakota Governors Cup Auto Races. Wallace will be piloting the number 36 IMCA Modified.

Race fans will have two opportunities to get up close and personal with Kenny Wallace! On Friday, July 31st, stop by the Stage Stop from 3:30pm - 5:00pm for Happy Hour with Kenny Wallace. Then on Saturday, August 1st, swing by Bennigans for a Meet and Greet from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Autograph cards will be available for fans to have Kenny Wallace sign.
The North Dakota Governors Cup Auto Races is a prestigious double header weekend with a full racing program each night including IMCA Sport Compacts, Hobby Stocks, INEX Legends, WISSOTA Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds plus NOSA 410 Sprint Cars.
Grandstands open at 4:00pm with the green flag waving at 5:00pm for the IMCA Sport Compacts, INEX Legends and Hobby Stocks. Then at 7:00pm, we will end the evening with WISSOTA Street Stocks, IMCA Modifieds and NOSA 410 Sprint Cars. Tickets are $20 for race fans.
