County Line Raceway To Host Renegade Of Dirt South ‘Open Wheel World Championship’ & ‘Thunder In The Pines’ in 2015!
June ‘Open Wheel World Championship’ To Pay A Possible $10,000 To Win!
(Middlebourne, WV) – Planning is well underway for the ground breaking season of the new Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour Southern Region which has lead to an overwhelming positive response from drivers, promoters, and fans. The already large list of 2015 special events for the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts is growing once more. With three $10,000+ event’s already on the tour slate there is no doubt dirt modified teams in the Eastern United States will see it’s biggest money year ever in 2015. In total over $60,000 in first place event money is already on the line in 2015 with what has just been announced to date.
An estimated 14-15 events will headline the introductory season for the Southern region in 2015 and fans of the County Line Raceway in Elm City, NC will have the opportunity to witness three of them. Tour and track officials are pleased to announce two marquee events & three nights of racing action at the speedway next season including an early spring date on April 11th and a mid summer show June 12th-13th. On April 11th the Renegades will make their return to the ‘Little Track Making Big Noise’ for a $2,500 to win open wheel invitational dubbed, “Thunder in the Pines�. The 3rd Annual modified special will be sanctioned by the Renegades of Dirt South and see a substantial pay increase in 2015, as well, track officials have decided to start twenty four cars instead of the tour required twenty. Previous winners of this event include; Russell Erwin & Chris Parker. More details will be released as the event approaches in 2015.
Furthermore, when the calendar shows the ‘Southern Tour’ the halfway point in the championship chase it will be time for a profitable two day stop in Elm City. On June 12th & 13th the Renegades of Dirt will invade the County Line Raceway for the final time in 2015 as they battle it out for the inaugural “Open Wheel World Championship�. On Friday night June 12th, Night #1 of the “Open Wheel World Championship� will see participants duel for event points and a $2,500 dollar winners prize. Then on Saturday night June 13th racers will return for Night #2 of the “Open Wheel World Championship� with $5,000 dollars awaiting the winner. A $500 to win, $100 to start Non-Qualifier event will also be run to award weekend points and ensure that at least forty cars participate in a feature on Saturday night.
The weekends highest overall point’s earner will be crowned as the “Open Wheel World Champion� and receive an additional $1000 dollars for his efforts. In addition, if any driver can win back to back nights they will get an extra $500 dollars and if they have 100% attendance with the Renegade of Dirt South up to June 14th they will receive a $1000 dollar bonus. In all it’s possible that one winner could walk away from the Inaugural “Open Wheel World Championship� $10,000 dollars richer. More details on these two great events will be posted throughout 2015. The hosting venue; County Line Raceway is a 3/8 mile clay oval located at 6953 Stagecoach Road in Elm City, N.C. The track has been in operation since May 21st, 1988. County Line Raceway is a family run track, currently being managed by James Upchurch and Brenda Holcombe.
