At a Glance: Clay County Fair Speedway & Deer Creek Speedway

WHAT

•The final stop of the season for the World of Outlaws in the Upper Midwest is set for this weekend with a visit to Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa on Friday, September 17 and Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota on Saturday, September 18. The battle for the series title is as close as ever entering the weekend, with just two points separating leader Joey Saldana and Jason Meyers, with 20-time series champion Steve Kinser third only 55 markers back. Meyers edged Saldana in a last lap thriller at Clay County last season, while Saldana won in a last lap battle with four-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz at Deer Creek Speedway. A total of 10 races remain on the 2010 calendar for the World of Outlaws.

WHEN

•On Friday, September 17 at Clay County Fair Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps are set for 6 p.m. Central with time trials to follow. Racing is set for 7:30 p.m. Central.

•On Saturday, September 18 at Deer Creek Speedway, the pit gates will open at 2 p.m. Central, with the grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Central and hot laps are set for 6 p.m. Central with time trials to follow. Racing is set for 7:30 p.m. Central.

WHERE

• Clay County Fair Speedway is located in Spencer, Iowa. Travel four blocks west of US 71 on 18th St. to the Clay County Fairgrounds, on the North edge of Spencer.

• Deer Creek Speedway is located is located in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, 1/2 Mile North of the intersection of State Highway 16 and US Highway 63.

TICKETS

•On Friday, September 17 at Clay County Fair Speedway, adult general admission tickets will be $30, with tickets for children ages 12-under $15. Reserved tickets will be $35. Pit combos will also be available for $55 which includes a reserved seat and a pit pass. For tickets call 763-389-9717.

•On Saturday, September 18 at Deer Creek Speedway, adult general admission tickets will be $35, with general admission tickets for children 12-under $15. Adult reserved tickets will be $35, with reserved tickets for children 12-under $15. Pit combos will also be available for $40 which includes a reserved ticket and a pit pass. •Deer Creek Speedway is a high-banked 3/8-mile oval. The track record of 11.583 seconds at 116.550 mph was established by Sam Hafertepe Jr. on September 19, 2009.
