Tuesday Nights Headlined with IMCA Divisions

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (Jan. 9, 2023) – Three IMCA divisions will make their Tuesday night home at Beaver Dam Raceway this season.

The Wisconsin speed plant, located between Madison and Milwaukee off Highway 151, features Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods on 17 weekly race programs beginning May 2.

The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season championship night is Sept. 19.

“There are a lot of IMCA drivers in this area. Tuesday race programs gives them another night to go IMCA racing,” explained Carolyn Mueller, who starts her 17th season as general manager of the 1/3-mile clay oval this year.

“The drivers we have talked to like the idea because it gives them another night when they can race for IMCA points,” she added. “And if they only want to race once a week, it means they can race here on Tuesday and have the weekend free to take their wife and kids camping or whatever else they like to do.”

Three special events are on the upcoming schedule at Beaver Dam, as Modifieds race for $1,500 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility on June 20, Northern SportMods for $1,000 to win on July 11 and Stock Cars for $1,000 to win and B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility on Aug. 8.

“We are looking forward to the new season,” said Mueller. “We have had Modifieds and SportMods here before but the Stock Cars will be new. “

Saturday demolition derbies and monster truck events will complement regular IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing programs.

Both a new scoreboard and new fencing were added at Beaver Dam Raceway prior to the 2022 season. Mueller said fans will note on opening night this spring that Old Blue has been retired and replaced with a new water truck.

Sanctioned Modifieds ran at the former Raceway at Powercom Park during the 2000 season.

Modified points earned at Beaver Dam Raceway figure toward IMCA’s Razor Chassis North Central Region, Stock Car points the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region.

“Beaver Dam Raceway will provide the ideal opportunity for Modified, Stock Car and Northern SportMod drivers to race another night for IMCA points and to chase track championships,” commented Jim Stannard, vice president of operations for the sanctioning body. “Beaver Dam is a first-class facility with a history of great racing. It’s an excellent midweek addition to our already strong group of sanctioned tracks in Wisconsin.”
