Saturday Winners at Central Missouri Speedway Include Clancy, Poe, Roark, and Reiff!

The quest for the Central Missouri Speedway class championships continued on Saturday for Mother’s Day weekend racing as 49 race teams were on hand. There were 18 B-Mods, 16 Super Stocks, 8 Midwest Mods, and 7 Pure Stocks signed in for the night’s action, which included 7 preliminary heat races and 4 main events.

   Ethan Isaacs and Chad Clancy earned front-row honors to start the 20-lap B-Mod main event.

Clancy quickly shot out to the early lead on the low side with Ethan Isaacs settling into second place. Behind the lead duo, Terry Schultz, Colin Pierce, and Jacob Ebert battled for the third position. The race was slowed by lap two with Clancy leading Isaacs and Schultz. Schultz moved to second behind Clancy with Jacob Ebert, Pierce, and Cody Brill fighting for a spot inside the top three. As the race’s laps clicked away, Clancy remained steady at the helm with Isaacs, Ebert, Schultz, and Brill at the front of the pack. Schultz tried the high line, but his normal lane was not producing as he slid back outside of the top five late in the race. Clancy was the man to beat on this night as he collected the main event win, his first-ever CMS feature victory! Isaacs turned in a strong run to capture second with Ebert third, Brill fourth, and Tim Karrick, advancing from 14th to claim fifth.

Aaron Poe and Nick Gibson paced the field for the start of the 20-lap Super Stock main event with Poe setting a blistering pace at the front of the pack. Dave Meyer, Blaine Ewing, and Nick Gibson had a great battle for second within the first five laps until Meyer edged his way forward to take over the runner-up spot. Ewing stayed high for the second position and challenged Meyer behind Poe out front. Marc Carter moved inside the top three to set up a fierce battle between Myer and Ewing while Devin Irvan ran in fifth. Just one yellow flag slowed the field as Poe dominated the event and claimed victory. Carter made a late-race pass on Meyer to capture second with Meyer third. Ewing held on to finish fourth with Irvin completing the top five.

Logan Roark and Rayce Martin took front-row honors for the Midwest Mods 15-lap main event with Roark looking to capture his third CMS win of the season. Roark set a quick pace at the front of the field with Martin and Dustin Dennison battling for second. Roark pulled away from the runner-up battle with nearly a full straightaway lead by lap 10 with Dennison, Brian Meyer, and David Wood behind him. In the end, Roark once again prevailed, taking his third CMS win in a row. David Wood was the man on the move as he drove from sixth in a classic drive towards the front to finish second. Dennison held on for third after a late-race slip just in front of Brian Meyer at the line. Johnny McGinnis rounded out the top five.

Spencer Reiff and Jonathan Evans collected front row starting honors with Reiff grabbing the early lead and shooting for two Pure Stock wins in a row. Reiff wasted no time in setting a blistering pace as he drove away from the rest of the field. Drivers diced for positions behind the leader with the top five changing multiple times as the field was slowed for a caution flag mid-race. Reiff again took off to set the pace as Mallory Stiffler advanced to the second spot, leaving Jonathan Evans and Bobby Russell to sort out the third position. Reiff ultimately captured his second-straight victory with Stiffler second for her strongest run of the season. Evans prevailed in the battle for third with Russell fourth and Richard Jameson fifth.
