(Warrensburg, Missouri) Weekly championship racing returns to the program this Saturday with special guest class the Show-Me Vintage Racing Series (SMVR) adding to the excitement. After last weekend’s first major special event of the year, all four POWRi divisions, including B-Mods, Super Stocks, Midwest Mods, and Pure Stocks are set to return to action on Saturday.

The vintage drivers will join the weekly racers for a full night of preliminary heat races and main events for all divisions, presented by Joslin’s Jewelry. The Joslin’s Jewelry story began in 1977 when Gary Joslin’s brother Donnie opened the original Joslin’s in the Raytown Plaza Shopping Center. Joslin’s began as a “custom jeweler,” one that became known for creating extremely fine works of custom jewelry at a price most everyone could afford. The store is located at 9529 Antioch Overland Park, Kansas. Hours of operation include Tuesday-Friday 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday 10 am to 5, closed on Sundays. For more information visit the website at www.joslinsjewelry.com or call 913-341-2021.

Two of the most recent winners with the SMVR are familiar faces at CMS as long-time stock car drivers at the track. Brian Cox of Concordia became the newest driver to add an SMVR win after posting a victory at I-35 Speedway earlier this year. Chad ‘The Bandit’ Eickleberry of Warrensburg, who has over 20 victories and numerous championships at the track over the years, captured a win at I-70 Motorsports Park earlier this month, and he will be another driver to watch as he and Cox try to defend their home turf from the over 20 expected entrants for Saturday’s event. Past vintage CMS winners include Jim Clevenger, Bubba Harvey, Tom Charles, and Foxie Summers. Note, mention of name does guarantee or assume driver race appearance.

The timeline for this Saturday is as follows: The Pit Gate opens at 4:30, Admission Gates at 5. The cutoff for drivers to check-in for racing is 6:15 (late check-ins will not earn passing points). The pit meeting takes place at 6:30, followed by practice “hot” laps at 7, with racing to follow at approximately 7:30. Admissions information for Saturday is as follows: Adult General Admission $15, Active-Duty Military and Senior Citizens ages 65 to 74 $12. Kids ages 6 to 12 years $6, Children ages 5 and under and Senior Citizens aged 75 years and older are free in the grandstands. Those permanently confined to a wheelchair are free in the grandstands. ALL pit passes regardless of age or status are $35.
