(Warrensburg, Missouri) After last weekend’s Memorial Day weekend special events, Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) returns to the NASCAR Weekly Race Series this Saturday with A-Mods, POWRi Super Stocks, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks for Joslin’s Jewelry Race Night. The Show Me Vintage Racing (SMVR) group will make an appearance this weekend as a guest class.

According to www.smvr.net, in 2001 a group of racers started the club in the Kansas City area and recruited some racers to bring back nostalgic racing. They built cars from a simple set of rules, asked tracks to let them race and bring back racing memories of days gone by. SMVR is a group of racers committed to keeping the memory of past racing and race cars from the Vintage years, the 20’s through the 70’s alive.

A third of the way through the season, a look at the division standings (top five in each division shown below), reveals that Dennis Elliott of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, sits atop the A-Mod standings. Cody Frazon of Warrensburg leads the way in the POWRi Super Stock division while multiple-time champion Jacob Ebert of Oak Grove holds point in B-Mod action. In Pure Stock competition, Kansas City’s Jason Ryun shows the way.
