Central Missouri Speedway Sanctions with NASCAR!

For Immediate Release

(Warrensburg, Missouri) Central Missouri Speedway recently announced its official signing with NASCAR for the sanctioning of racing for the 2021 season. The NASCAR Advance Auto Parts weekly race series classes for Saturday night and special events include A-Mods, Super (Street) Stocks, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks. NASCAR sanctions nearly 60 weekly tracks across North America. A-Mods will compete under Division I, with all other classes running under Division II.

At a pre-season driver registration event, owner and promoter Earl Walls said, “I think we have the drivers here that can compete at the NASCAR points level and I believe we will pull some circuit drivers on a continuous ongoing basis.” The 2021 CMS schedule features 23 nights of racing from April to September. Over 25 drivers pre-registered for the race season at Saturday’s event.

A track registration form must still be completed by all drivers, which is found under the drivers link at www.centralmissourispeedway.net. The form may be printed, filled out completely, and sent to the provided address. This will help ensure car class number is reserved for the race season for the driver.

At the registration event, Walls went on to say, “I decided we would not have a track registration fee this year because the drivers have to buy an official NASCAR license or temporary license. I also encourage the crew members to get a license as well. Drivers will have an opportunity at an increased point fund with NASCAR. This year I am committed to NASCAR. If it does not work out, we will go back to what we did before. I want to do what is right for the drivers and want to promote them.”

Licensing details include $205 for Division I (A-Mod) drivers and $110 for Division II drivers (all other weekly classes). Crew licenses are available for $100. A 15-day temporary driver’s license is available for $50 or a one-night is available for $25. Benefits include participant accident insurance, discounts on NASCAR “Official Members” merchandise and access to NASCAR members website.

Pit passes for licensed NASCAR drivers and crews are $30 each week, non-licensed drivers and crew-member pit passes are $35. Special events are $35 for licensed and $40 non-licensed. Note, fees are subject to change per track. Drivers who are 14 and 15 must bring a certified copy of their birth certificate to compete. Drivers (and crew) are reminded to bring their temporary license on the first night if their official card does not arrive before opening night and to be prepared to show their license when purchasing their pit pass.

In recent weeks, several questions have emerged regarding points at the track. Licensed NASCAR drivers will compete for NASCAR points. The track will also award its own “track points” just as it always has. Lastly, Super Stock drivers who purchase a POWRi membership ($100) will earn POWRi Super Stock points. For POWRi membership information for Super Stock drivers, visit www.powri.com and click on Member Registration.

Walls also confirmed the continuation of the 24-or-more cars in attendance bonus program for A-Mods. If 24 or more cars sign in prior to the 6:15 weekly pill draw cutoff time, then the class will compete for a bonus purse bump for all positions. Normal weekly A-Mod pay is already $160 to start and $1,000-to-win but with the bonuses those totals increase to either $180-to-start/$1,200-to-win or $200-to-start/$1,500 to win!

B-Mods and Super Stocks receive a purse bump for the coming season as the Walls announced an increase within the top 10 for each division. An additional $455 is available to B-Mod drivers from positions third through 14th while Super Stocks have an additional $310 added from third to ninth-place positions. Pure Stocks saw an increase in their weekly purse last season. All total, the standard weekly purse for 2021 is nearly $17,000 per race night and is easily one of the highest in the nation. The complete purses are available under the Drivers link on the CMS website.

In other exciting track news, the all-new ‘Brew Pub 13’ has a tentative opening date of April. Formerly known as the CMS Party Barn, the Brew Pub is sports bar and restaurant will serve popular sports bar type selections, only at a higher quality of product for customers. The bar will initially serve a nice selection of beers and well drinks with plans to add a micro-brewery selection of beers in the future.

There are several job opportunities available at the speedway. Concession workers and ticketing personnel are needed to fill the slots available for weekly and special events racing throughout the season. In addition, Earl and Susan Walls are searching for a lead “short-order cook” (chef) and cook staff for the restaurant. Wait staff and licensed bartenders are also being sought to fill positions for Brew Pub 13. Visit the CMS Facebook page to complete the application process or call Susan at 816.229.1338 for details, no calls after 8 p.m. please.
