Bowers Maintains UMSS Points Lead Thanks to Second-Place Finish

Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (Aug. 1, 2018) – Ryan Bowers recorded yet another podium finish with the Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series last Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway.
“We started second in the heat race and won,” he said. “After hot laps, we made a few changes on the car that helped us out. We led every lap and felt good.”
After the heat race, Bowers and his team tuned up his car a little more before the Wing of the Hill, which is a one-on-one qualifying race.
“We were the top qualifier so that seeded us first for the Wing of the Hill,” he said. “We won that as well, which started us on the pole of the feature.”
The track changed a bit more than the team thought it would, getting somewhat rougher than it had been.
“With the track changing how it did, we kind of missed the setup,” he said. “We were still able to come home with a second-place finish though. It was another solid night at the track.”
Bowers is currently the UMSS points leader with just a handful of races remaining in the season. The next event is Aug. 18 at Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minn.
