Dale Eliason Jr Battles Electrical Issue During Hall of Fame Classic

26 Promotions - Peoria, AZ - (October 4th, 2017) - After a win and a runner-up finish in his last two non-wing events, Dale Eliason Jr was looking forward to two consecutive nights of racing without having to strap the wings on.
“I was stoked that the weekend was non-wing,” said Eliason Jr. “But, in hot laps, we were having problems with the Tac and power steering. I went out for the heat and with five to go I was up to third and the whole car shut off. We went over the car and found that the ground wiring for the two was in half. We clamped it back together and it worked better than ever.”
Starting fifteenth in the feature, Eliason Jr knew he had to be aggressive in order to make his way to the front.
“I drove cautiously aggressive and got up to 8th in the first lap,” he said. “I avoided a bunch of wrecks and finished seventh with the car in one piece.”
Still not sure if all of the electrical issues were behind him, Eliason Jr entered night two of the Hall of Fame Classic hoping for better results.
“I was still a little worried about the power issue, but I put that behind me during the heat,” he said. “I started fourth in the second heat and got up to and finished third on a track that didn’t allow much passing, but I made it work.”
Starting eighth in the feature, the Iceman went into the race with the same approach as the night before.
“I drove like I did Friday night, but the track was way different,” Eliason Jr explained. “I was only able to push my way through to the fifth spot and on the last lap lost the position to finish sixth.”
Eliason Jr returns to Power 600 Series action on October 14th at Canyon Speedway Park.
