26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (June 20th, 2017) – Jarrett Martin recorded his sixth podium finish on Saturday night at Canyon Speedway Park as the Micro’s took on the third mile oval for the first time in a year.

“We started the night with hot laps and it took a couple laps to get into the groove of the big track,” said Martin. “It’s been since this time last year that we raced on it and the first race on it with our new car.”

Martin lined up outside the front row for his Heat and quickly made his way to lead.

“By the Heat race I was starting to get the feel of the car and the track,” he said. “I was able to get a good initial start and win the Heat by a decent margin.”

Martin’s win earned him enough passing points to make the six-car invert, placing fifth in the starting lineup for the 20-lap Feature.

“Everyone was expecting the track to be dry, but I didn’t think it was going to be too bad to start,” he explained. “We only made minor adjustments and the car was great all race.”

Martin fell back to sixth on the start but worked his way up to third before a delay in action occurred when some of the lights went out at the track.

“I was making the bottom work better than the other guys were working the middle, that’s where I made up most of my ground early,” he said. “During the long red, I thought about it for a while and knew I needed to get to second quick to have a shot at the lead.”

Martin did exactly that as he moved into second off of turn two on the restart. Martin set his sights on the leader, Dale Eliason Jr, but was never able to challenge for the lead.

“I tried hunting down Dale Jr. but didn’t have anything for him,” said Martin. “Congrats to him and his dad on the win, it was very well deserved.”

Martin earns his seventh top five and ninth top ten with the second-place finish.

Up next for Martin and the Streaker Racing team is a trip to California for Saturday night’s Budweiser Outlaw Nationals where Martin will run the Non-Wing division.

Jarrett Marin would like to thank Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, MyRacePass, The Race Shack, Paint by Steve, Resolute Performance Contracting and Bell Helmets for their continued support.
