Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Set For Canyon Speedway Park Return
TULSA, Okla. (June 13, 2016) Set for action on Saturday, June 18, the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region will take on the one-third mile Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz. in the annual Father’s Day Classic.
The final appearance of the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region at the Arizona oval in 2016, two previous visits this year has seen Logan Forler and Lance Norick in Victory Lane.
Round 10 on the 2016 season, the list of winners remains diverse with seven drivers topping the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region thus far, including first time regional winners, Colton Hardy and Stevie Sussex.
Fresh off his first victory in 20 ASCS Southwest A-Feature starts, Rick Ziehl has padded his advantage over the field to 51 markers. Finishing Top 10 in every start his season, Ziehl also has a half-dozen top-five runs to his credit. Out of 13 drivers, Ziehl is the leading ASCS Southwest Regional winner at the Canyon Speedway Park with six victories to his credit.
A single win in 2016 to go along with four top-fives’ and eight Top 10’s, Bob Ream, Jr. will look to close the gap on the reigning Southwest Regional Champion. Ream’s only trip to Victory Lane at Canyon came on August 15, 2014.
Colton Hardy holds third in tour standings with one win, for top-fives’, and six Top 10’s. Casey Buckman and Lance Norick complete the top-five. James Aragon, Kaylene Verville, Jesse Baker, J.T. Imperial, and Cody Sickles complete the Top 10.
Saturday, June 18 will get underway at 7:00 P.M. (MST) with AZ Differential IMCA Modifieds, Allscapes IMCA Stock Cars vs. SCRA Stock Cars, Mini Sprints, and Scottsdale Muffler Hobby Stocks filling the evening’s card.
