Ladies Night to Feature Powder Puff Event at Can-Am

It’s the first and only time the fans get the chance to see it in 2024, the ladies get a chance to get behind the wheel this coming Friday night at the Can-Am Speedway as it is Ladies Night with a full slate of racing in all five divisions and a popular Powder Puff event also.

Since we last raced on June 29th many drivers have taken in some action at neighboring speedways to get some extra seat time behind the wheel, but will be laser focused when the green flag drops this weekend.

In the Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTCar 358 Modifieds Tim Fuller remains on top of the leaderboard in search of his fourth consecutive track championship, but Lance Willix, who won the last time out, sits second over Billy Dunn, Ryan Bartlett and Shaun Shaw. Both Fuller and Willix also had good runs in the DIRTCar 358 Modified Series race at Weedsport on July 7th over the Can-Am break. Fuller Was fifth, while Willix finished ninth and still holds a slim lead over fellow Can-Am regular Jordan McCreadie.

In the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTCar Sportsman ranks Mike Fowler still leads the way by a slim 11 points but in search of his fifth straight track title is Tyler Corcoran, who showed the field he is not out of this yet. Behind him Gavin Eisele and Brennan Moore are tied for third in points just 18 behind the leader, with the ever consistent Eric Nier completing the top 5 only 24 points back of Fowler in the chase for the title.

Josh Verne Jr. made his way back to victory lane in the Panther Frameworx Crate Sprint Car division the last time out at Can-Am, for his third win of the year at the end of June and holds a 16 point advantage over his closest title rival Andrew Hennessy. Both drivers have three wins on the year, while Verne has finished no worse than second all year. Tucker Donath is also close in the fight, with two wins on the year.

Anthony St. Mary Jr. picked up his second win of the season the last time we were in action at Can-Am, but at the top of the leaderboard for the Sundance Leisure ThunderCars is the driver everyone chased one year ago. Francis White is in front by a slim 10 points over Damien Bechler, who has had a fine year in 2024. Both drivers also have two wins on the year and both drivers won their respective features in back to back efforts as well.

The Donath Motorworx Limited Sportsman doesn’t crown a champion but the racing has been super exciting all year. Logan Brown has thrilled the crowd all year with an impressive 5 wins in 2024. Brown also has a win at the Brockville Speedway in his first ever visit back in mid June. Brady Howard also has two Can-Am wins on the year and added a Mohawk International Raceway victory last week. The last time we raced at Can-Am belonged to one of the up and coming lady drivers at the speedway. Genavieve Bartlett showed she was going to be one to contend with this season as she scored her first career win in front of her proud family on June 29th

The top stars of the Can-Am Speedway will be ready to go Friday night and we hope you will be there as well. Gates open at 5pm with the first green flying at 7pm, as the Golden Jubilee Season marches on.
