Ladies Night Specials and a Full Show Set for Friday Night at Can Am

LAFARGEVILLE, NY – The summer months are getting warmer and the racing action at Can Am Speedway is expected to get hotter as the road to the track championship continues in all six divisons this coming Friday night.

Last week Tim Fuller returned to victory lane for his third win of 2022 in the 25 lap Whitesboro Plow Shop DIRTcar 358 Modifieds. Fuller took the lead from Preston Forbes and never looked back on his way to his 35th career Modified win at Can Am, putting him in a tie for 5th on the all time win list with legend Bob McCreadie. Lance Willix had a great run coming home second with Forbes earning his first top 5 of the season, with a third place finish.

Driving these cars with two hands is a difficult thing to do, but try doing it with one hand. That’s what Tyler Stevenson was forced to do this past Friday night in the Bob Johnson Auto Group DIRTcar Sportsman 20 lap feature. After breaking his hand earlier in the week, Stevenson would drive away from points leader Dave Rogers and Jessica Power to score his second win of the year, becoming the second two-time winner of the season.

The FABCO DIRTcar Pro Stocks made their first visit in over a month for a 20 lap event and Eli Gilbert and Tyler Bushey put on an old fashioned paint trading battle for the feature win. Both drivers traded the lead for several laps, until Gilbert was able to pull away and score his first win of the season over Bushey. Bruno Richard, who has been the hottest driver in the Northeast in the DIRTcar Pro Stocks, completed the podium and held on to his points lead in the process.

Jordan Bennett was the dominant force in the 15 lap Panther Frameworx 602 Crate Sprint Cars. Bennett took the lead early and never looked back, leading every lap to score his second win in the last three weeks. Josh Verne Jr. and Tucker Donath, both spun coming to the checkered flag, which saw Logan Crisafulli and Taylor Doxtator jump to second and third.

Pit Gates open at 4:00pm with General Admission gates opening at 5:00pm. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:00pm sharp with Hot Laps to ensue at 6:20pm. Opening Ceremonies for the evening will kick off at 7:00pm by the lovely Miss Adirondack/Miss Thousand Islands and Heat Races will immediately follow.
