Inside Line Promotions – CALISTOGA, Calif. (April 15, 2015) – Jason Sides entered last week seeking his first podium finish of the season with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

A week later Sides has three straight podiums as he heads into the final weekend in California during the World of Outlaws spring swing. He will compete on Friday at Kings Speedway in Hanford before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris for the SoCal Showdown.

“We’ve had some good runs the last couple of weeks and you carry that momentum from race track to race track,” he said. “The hard work has been paying off and we’re looking to continue this momentum for as long as possible.”

Sides kicked off his standout week last Wednesday at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, where he qualified 11th quickest, won a heat race and claimed the dash to start on the pole of the main event.

“The outside was the preferred lane on the start of the feature so we lost a couple of spots on the opening lap,” he said. “We stayed within striking distance the whole race, but couldn’t find the right opportunity to make a bid for the lead. Any time you can run up front and get a podium with the World of Outlaws it’s a good night.”

Sides ended with a third-place result to garner his first podium finish of the season with the premier sprint car series.

Momentum followed Sides into Calistoga Speedway on Saturday for the first of a doubleheader at the scenic half-mile oval. Sides timed in 11th quickest during qualifying, won his heat and placed fifth in the dash. That lined him up on the inside of the third row for the main event.

“The cushion was pretty treacherous, but guys could get a real good run up there if they hit it right,” he said. “We stayed on the bottom most of the race and picked up a couple of positions when we had the chance.”

Sides competed for a podium throughout the main event before holding off Donny Schatz for third place.

The weekend concluded on Sunday at Calistoga Speedway with Sides qualifying fourth quickest. He placed third in a heat race to lock himself into the dash for the third straight night. Sides finished where he started – third – in the dash to line up on the inside of the second row for the main event.

“We just kept plugging away on the bottom,” he said. “On some of the cautions it felt like I had a right rear flat and it’d take three or four laps to get back going. The longer we went the better it was and we’d get back in a rhythm.”

Sides spent the entire race in a close battle with several drivers for the lead. He then made a last-lap pass to score a runner-up result, which marked his best finish of the season with the World of Outlaws.
