Freeman Scores First Podium Finish of Season During Debut at Boothill Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, La. (May 31, 2017) – A last-minute decision to go racing ended with Cody Freeman earning his best finish of the season as Freeman recorded a third-place result last Saturday at Boothill Speedway.

“We weren’t planning on running this weekend,” he said. “I was at my grandma’s house Saturday morning and dad called and asked if I wanted to go racing. Well, heck yeah, I want to go racing. I was so pumped up all night. That’s the closest to home we’ve ever raced.”

Freeman drove his 600cc non-wing micro sprint to a runner-up finish in his heat race and ran in the top three the entire feature, ending third as the checkered flag was waved. It was his first time competing at Boothill Speedway.

“The track was pretty bumpy and we worked hard to get the car to roll through the ruts better,” he said. “Once I figured out where all the bumps were and drove below them we were good.”

Freeman is slated to compete this Friday at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, and Saturday at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas.

It will mark Freeman’s first race of the season at RPM Speedway. He placed 14th at Superbowl Speedway during his lone visit earlier this spring. Freeman also produced two top fives and five top 10s at Superbowl Speedway last year.
