Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (Aug. 27, 2019) – Kraig Kinser scored a pair of top-10 finishes last weekend.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader began on Friday at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., where Kinser qualified 10th quickest to open the NOS Energy Drink Rushmore Outlaw Showdown. A sixth-place run in a heat race and ninth-place finish in the qualifier preceded a rally from 13th to 10th in the A Main.
The team followed that up on Saturday at Big Sky Speedway, where Kinser timed in 13th quickest in qualifying, placed fifth in a heat race and powered from 13th to ninth during The Brawl at Big Sky Speedway feature.
Kinser was tied for the most cars passed in the A Main each night.
“Top 10s is what we want to get back to regularly, but I felt like I could have done better,” he said. “We’ll have to keep working on that. You always like progress and moving forward. Our big thing is we need to be in position where we can start up front.”
Next up for the team is a three-race weekend in Washington, with races on Friday and Saturday at Skagit Speedway in Alger during the World of Outlaws at Skagit Presented by Scottie’s Plumbing and on Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma.
“We always enjoy this part of the country,” he said. “Having races close together is nice. You want to get started off on the right path so hopefully we can be competitive in the top five.”
