Chick Battles to Podium Finish at Lebanon I-44 Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – LEBANON, Mo. (July 26, 2017) – Mandy Chick earned another podium finish at Lebanon I-44 Speedway last Saturday.

The strong outing at her home track came on the heels of a 17th-place result the previous weekend at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich., where Chick opened the JEGS/CRA All Stars Tour event on July 15 by qualifying 12th quickest.

“The VanDoorn Racing Development Ford was fast throughout practice and we had a decent qualifying run,” she said. “Berlin is one of the hardest tracks on the tour so to be able to still hang on to a qualifying run like that with it being our first time there was great.”

Chick started the main event on the outside of the sixth row and ended with a 17th-place finish.

“Berlin is a track that you either love or hate and I was one of the ones who absolutely loved it,” she said. “It was such a fun track to race on and most definitely a tough one, but we rolled into the trailer in one piece.”

Previous commitments kept Chick from making the trip to the next race on the tour schedule – last Saturday at Baer Field Motorsports Park in Fort Wayne, Ind., which rained out anyway. Therefore, she returned to her home track of Lebanon I-44 Speedway.

Chick qualified just shy of the pole, ending up second quickest. She started the main event on the outside of the front row and battled to a third-place result, which marked her third top-five finish of the season.

“Berlin and I-44 are on two opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to tracks and racing so if you can master those two tracks, you could be good almost anywhere,” she said.

Chick is scheduled to return to JEGS/CRA All Stars action on Aug. 5 at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Mich.
